Hotel Le Lion D'Or et Restaurant La Table Du Lion

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Bayeux. Staff was very friendly. Room was very clean and beds were comfortable. There is a restaurant at the hotel where you can purchase food. Bayeux is a beautiful town and we enjoyed it here very much.

We booked Hotel Le Lion while in Bayeux, after a terrible experience at Moulin Morin (where we had initially booked 3 nights together with our friends). As we were on vacation, there was no point in suffering more than one night, so I looked for other options. There were many choices on Booking, but after a careful analysis we chose Hotel Le Lion and it was the best choice! I felt sorry we didn't choose well in the first place and waisted money, time and ruining the vacation mood on Moulin Morin. By comparison, Le Lion was worth every penny. I felt sorry we had to live after 2 nights, but we had a plane to catch. To sum up: Large, beautiful room, very clean, water and coffee machine in the room, also Dyson Cool in the room. High bed, very comfortable mattress. All the staff was very professional, even better than at some 5 * chain hotels. It exceeded my expectations and I have high standards. Excellent breakfast, very diverse choices of cheese, meat, bread, sweets, a wide variety of fruits (from cherries to dragon fruit), almond milk. We booked the dinner at La Table du Lion one of the evenings: excellent food, impeccable service. In the morning, apart from breakfast, in the reception there were croissants and lemonade. At the reception desk we received very good recommendations for things to do in Bayeux. Excellent stay, overall!!

The room was very good. The staff were vert helpful and keen to give you directions and advise.

The quaint hotel was a gem in the town of Bayeaux. Located centrally, it was easy to find and easy to access other things in the town. Beautiful lobby with a nice waiting area and bar area. The room was a delight as was the bathroom. Clean, attractive, comfortable bed. Deluxe shower with robes, slippers, and lotions, shampoos and hair dryer. Fantastic breakfast with jams, breads and cakes of all sorts, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, cheese, yogurt, and of course croissants. Staff was friendly, spoke english, helpful, and attentive to all our needs.

The location is excellent, right in the centre of Bayeux. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was quite small but comfortable with a well appointed bathroom with a large shower. The view from the room was over the courtyard which was very nice. The room was quiet, even with the windows open, just the noise of the pigeons sitting on the flower boxes.
